Geocaching: The free way to explore your city

For those of you who have never heard of Geocaching, I recommend you watch this video created by my friend, Hélène Dryden, and me.

It may sound a little silly at first. But I assure you that once you get out there and find them you will discover a completely new side of the city you live in.

The basic idea is to go to find hidden containers, or caches, using a GPS-enabled device. In other words, you go to geocaching.com and type in your zip code, pick a cache, and use your smart phone to track its location. Once you get to the coordinates, all you need to do is find it! Caches can be big or small--Some I've found were as small as a watch battery.

For those of you who tend to get antsy to get outside and do something during the winter months, Geocaching is an awesome, free activity that you can enjoy with both friends and family.
