A blog dedicated to a wide range of topics that interest Michiganders like me.

About

My name is Jenny Kalish, and I am the creator of Sustainable Mitten. I am a 22-year-old journalism major at Michigan State University, and I am very interested in environmental issues. I have taken environmentally-focused classes at MSU that I quite enjoyed. But now I would like to step into my own world of journalism, and create a place where I can report on the environmental stories I believe are important. As you may have noticed, I have five news tabs: Food, Water, Environment, Great Lakes and Music. You may be thinking that one is out of place-- It is, but I am also passionate about music and I thought it would be fun to include it. Since this is Sustainable Mitten, most of the topics I write about will be Michigan-centered. However, there are plenty of national issues that have local resonance.

I am the only contributor to this site, though I welcome anyone to send me a message who would like to post something. All quotes taken are from real people, not press releases, and all photos used are my own unless otherwise stated. I hope you enjoy Sustainable Mitten! Feedback is encouraged!
